South Bend Cubs about more than baseball

To say the South Bend Cubs and Four Winds Field have been a match made in heaven for Michiana would be a bit of an understatement.
The first minor league team to call Coveleski Stadium (now Four Winds Field) home was the Class A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox in 1988.
And although the South Bend White Sox enjoyed moderate success, when the Sox pulled up stakes and the Arizona Diamondbacks took residence at Coveleski Stadium there was a bit of a disconnect with Michiana residents.
The South Bend Silver Hawks had a 17-year relationship with Arizona and struggled at times to fill the seats.
That all changed when Andrew Berlin purchased the Silver Hawks in 2011 and began making major changes — to both the team and the stadium.
